Mineral Oil

Also known as vaseline, petrolatum, paraffinum, cera microcristallina, ceresin, ozokerite, ... a petroleum-derived product that completely seals the skin, preventing it from breathing. A common problem is the contamination of mineral oil with aromatic hydrocarbons, which are potentially carcinogenic. (Pay special attention to mineral oil in lip care products!)

Plant-derived butters, waxes and oils

Give our CN INNOVATIONS products their texture and strengthen the skin in its natural function, depth effect, provide the skin with important nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants.

Parabens (Methyl-, Propyl- & Butyl)

Suspected of causing endocrine disruption due to their hormone-like structure, they are easily absorbed by the skin and are shown to be stored in our bodies.

Plant-derived conservatives

Food grade botanical preservatives keep our CN INNOVATIONS beauty products fresh.

Microbeads (plastic)

Are used as exfoliants in scrubs and pollute our oceans, lakes and fish with plastic particles. Humans ultimately consume them by eating fish.

Organic, environmentally friendly peelings

Effective, skin-friendly peelings such as sugar, jojoba pearls, dried plant parts or clay do not harm humans or the environment.

Acrylate polymers (plastic)

Chemical acrylates are used as fixative agents or water proofing substances in cosmetics. Plastics used in cosmetic products are harming our oceans, soils and fish.

Plant-derived polymers and gums

Serve as natural gelling agents for our CN INNOVATIONS formulas without the use of plastics.

Artificial and synthetic dyes

Are made from petroleum and may be contaminated with harmful, potentially carcinogenic substances.

Phyto-Pigments

Plant pigments represent a healthy alternative to artificial and synthetic dyes.

Synthetic fragrances

A simple ingredient listed as "perfume" or "fragrance" contains hundreds of untested chemicals and heavy metals, that -as endocrine disruptors- can cause serious health problems.

Natural essential organic oils

Give our CN INNOVATIONS beauty products their pleasant smell, without any chemicals.

Synthetic antioxidants (BHA, BHT)

Are cancer-causing, allergy-inducing chemicals (E320 and E321) that are still used in cosmetic products (especially in lip care cosmetics and sunscreen products). Studies have shown that prolonged use of cosmetics with BHA and BHT can increase health risks and lead to blood clotting as well as liver- and stomach tumors.

Natural antioxidants

Only natural auxiliaries such as tocopherols, carotenes, lycopene, or Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) are added to our CN INNOVATIONS cosmetic products for oxidation protection.

Dimethicones and other silicones

Are silicone-based polymers (recognizable by the suffix -cone or -xane), which are used as lubricants in cosmetic products. Although the skin feels smoother after their application, silicones clog the pores, the skin can not breathe and other active ingredients do not reach their site of action. In addition, they are extremely harmful to the environment, due to their slow degradation.

Plant-based emollients

Such as high-quality vegetable oils that strengthen the skin, have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

Pesticide laced ingredients

Pesticides can be absorbed into the body and contaminate animals habitats and water systems.

Organic raw ingredients

The ingredients in our natural cosmetics are not treated with pesticides, fungicides or herbicides.

Benzophenones

Are highly carcinogenic, have hormone-like effects and disrupt metabolic processes in the body. In cosmetics, they prevent the ingredients from decay due to UV radiation, and are also used in sunscreen products as UV filters.

Natural antioxidants and filters

Natural antioxidants are healthier for humans, instead of chemical UV filters we use mineral filters.

Toluene

A petrochemical solvent, paint thinner; potentially neurotoxic,, carcinogenic and often contaminated with benzene.

Vegetable Glycerin

Gives structure to our products, and contains extra antioxidants and vitamins.

Triclosan

Is often used in deodorants, soaps, mouthwashes, toothpastes or creams due to its antibacterial effects. It is carcinogenic, neurotoxic (harmful to the nervous system) and kills not only bad but also good bacteria. In addition, it pollutes the environment.
